How many ballerinas can dance on tiptoes in one place? A world record 353 at New York's Plaza Hotel

I also recommend leaving your hair natural or curling it (I use a big wand for natural waves). Almost any extensions won’t look great with stick-straight hair, especially if you have a really blunt cut. The curls add dimension and help the hair extensions blend with short or thin hair. So the real reason I decided to try Barefoot Blonde Hair Extensions is that I freaking LOVE Amber Fillerup.

The one thing I don’t love about Barefoot Blonde extensions are the amount of pieces they come in. Most of the clip in pieces are really large (3-4 clips on one piece) so they sometimes are too wide for my head. Generally, clip in hair extensions last so long because you’ll only use them when you need them.

Products

We challenge conventional standards of beauty by providing women with confidence through innovative products for different hair lengths and needs. BFB Hair seeks to lead the discussion in educating and empowering women through tutorials, scheduled video chats and in-house appointments. The first time I put all of my Barefoot Blonde Hair extensions in, I almost freaked out because they were SO long!! This is great for so many people but I personally my hair extensions a little shorter.

Amber Fillerup's Summary

Sure you can look online, but to really know what color is perfect for you, you’ve got to see them in person. I requested that my color match kit includes a few sandy blonde shades that I thought would be similar to my own. The best part, these try-on kits are free (you just pay for shipping) and arrive so fast in the mail.

Barefoot Blonde Hair Extensions Review

If you follow BFB Hair on Instagram they post a ton of hair tutorials, care tips, and more that I definitely recommend following and saving for future use. Their blog also offers a ton of advice and styling suggestions as well. I am a hair extension newbie so I loved that Barefoot Blonde had a “home try on kit“. This simple kit is the perfect way to ensure that you get the exact right color for your hair. There are certain days when I just feel happier with long hair, and these extensions are the only tool I need.

I’ve used these for a year and they’re still in great condition. Even if you got the cheapest possible extensions at the salon, you would still pay at least $1200 a year! Barefoot Blonde extensions don’t come in a ton of colors, but the actual hair has enough dimensions that one color can easily match a few different shades.

Day Declutter Challenge

I picked out 5 different shades of blonde to try out. Honestly I feel like I could have gone with 2 or 3 of them but landed on “Sandy Blonde”. BFB Classic Seamless Extensions are $214 for the 21 inch length or $350 for the 24 inch length, which I find to be super reasonable.

For example, you’ll want to leave a super tiny layer of hair at the bottom of your neck and clip the rest up. You’ll then let down another small layer of natural hair and clip the new layer. Before you put the extensions in, I recommend spraying your hair lightly with texture spray or dry shampoo. This isn’t necessary by any means, but it does help the clips hold for longer and makes the process easier for a first-timer.

Amber Fillerup's Location

I part my hair horizontally around the temple area and just clip them in…that’s it. You can curl, flat iron, and braid whatever you normally do to your hair. It’s pretty easy to tell in photos that my natural hair is pretty thin. It’s certainly not thick, but not as thin as some people. It’s just this middle ground where it could definitely use a bit of oomph, especially when I decided to curl my hair.

I used to have tape-in extensions, and I had to wash and blow-dry them even on lazy days and sick days when I didn’t want them. A set of tape-ins wouldn’t last past 6 months max due to constant use, but my clip-ins have lasted over a year and are still in great condition. When I had longer hair, I use to bulk my extensions in a few main spots, but with shorter hair, you really need to be more deliberate. You can get your extensions trimmed and add some layers to help them blend with short hair, but I don’t personally recommend this. These clip in hair extensions work best if you’re looking for length as well as some volume.

I spent two hours brushing them out before I gave up. This hair can be treated just like your normal hair which is amazing. As someone new to the extension game – not having to do anything “special” to my clip-in makes the process so much easier.

Beyoncé shows off natural hair while slamming critics

beyonce's real hair

Beyoncé came under fire when her hair care brand was first announced in 2023. Per Glamour, critics claimed the singer didn’t have enough expertise on natural hair because she often wears wigs. Others rebutted that Beyoncé’s mother, Tina Knowles, is a licensed cosmetologist who used to manage a hair salon and surely passed her hair care knowledge onto her daughter. Beyoncé shared a video singing (not literally, unfortunately) the praises of her hair-care brand, Cécred, and in the process showing off her wash-day routine and her natural hair texture. She shows her stylist wetting her blown-out hair to reveal her beautiful curl pattern, treating it with the Rice & Rose Protein Rital, followed by the Moisturizing Deep Conditioner and “a tiny bit” of the Moisture Sealing Lotion.

The best, worst and weirdest of Stagecoach Day 1 with Eric Church, Jelly Roll and more

Beyoncé said she wasn’t always ‘flawless’ when it comes to her hair, unveiling her longtime struggles with psoriasis. Cosmopolitan participates in various affiliate marketing programs, which means we may get paid commissions on editorially chosen products purchased through our links to retailer sites. Lawson’s post has since been deleted but Beyoncé’s hairdresser Neal Farinah shared the video on his Instagram. Beyoncé is officially putting the myth that you can't wear wigs and have healthy hair to rest.

Times Beyonce's Natural Hair Made an Appearance

The Grammy Award winning singer posted an archival video to her Instagram on Sunday, dubbed "Cécred Wash Day" by Beyoncé and many others, to share her wash day ritual using the products and send a message to fans. Considering how well the products clearly work and how incredible her natural hair looks when heat-styled, I can't be the only one who'd love to see how her hair air dries, too. Those natural curls probably look even more beautiful when dry — and they probably look fabulous under a cowboy hat. In February, she announced the line, Cécred, a collection of eight hair-care products that use luxury ingredients and encourage a ritualistic practice to achieve healthy hair. Inspired from her childhood experience of growing up sweeping inside her mother’s hair salon, Beyoncé said that she wanted to bring her mother’s “teachings to life,” according to the brand’s website.

Knowles owned a hair salon when the singer was growing up, and when Beyoncé teased her hair care venture in May 2023, she noted that her girl group Destiny's Child got their start performing for her mom's clients. The ultra-private “Cowboy Carter” crooner hopped on the viral haircare trend and posted a nearly two-minute clip taking followers through the multistep process of caring for her color-treated tresses. In it, she explained how she maintains her textured blond hair with her seven-product regimen (and other tools) and subtly flexed about her “long and healthy” hair.

These days, Beyoncé’s mane isn’t the only thing that has fans freaking out. In the clip, Lawson can be seen combing through Beyoncé’s dark brown and blonde-highlighted hair, which reaches down to her waist. Buyers are permitted to sign up for multiple registration groups. She’s among the most honored artists in Grammy history, but has never won album of the year. The finale saw the ethereal creations of both Lizama and Farinah drenched.

“Every day, for years, [Beyoncé] has had someone picking at her face, pulling on her hair,” Farinah said. “And at the time of this shoot—especially now that she’s a mother of three, a wife, who tours and does interviews—she said, ‘I want to be myself, guys. I just want to be free.’” Judging by this latest moment, it’s a spirit she’s still channeling—and it makes for one showstopping end result. My hair and music seemed to do that a lot over the years,” she wrote in the caption. In her everyday approach to beauty, however, Beyoncé continues to serve up some major hair moments as well. This weekend, she stepped out in New York City to support her husband Jay-Z, who performed at Webster Hall.

The singer shared a behind-the-scenes video detailing the steps that keep her long, natural hair in tip-top shape. Of course, she’s seen using products from her new haircare brand, Cécred. On Monday, Beyoncé shared a rare glimpse of her wash day routine in an unpolished video to promote her new hair-care line, shocking many with an in-depth look at her real hair.

For the occasion, she called on longtime hair stylist Neal Farinah to work with her hair’s natural texture. “Rocking that beautiful Creole hair,” Farinah wrote, sharing a photo of Beyoncé’s tight, twisted curls, finished with a sleek side part. Beyoncé first launched her acclaimed hair care line Cécred on Feb. 20, and it boasted of strengthening and soothing all types of hair, as well as protecting it from damage. While many fans flocked to buy the products, some folks worried about the singer's own natural hair journey and use of the line.

"I was exposed to so many different kinds of entrepreneurial women in her salon," she wrote on Instagram. "I saw firsthand how the ways we nurture and celebrate hair can directly impact our souls. I watched her heal and be of service to so many women. Having learned so much on my hair journey, I've always dreamed of carrying on her legacy." "I remember the day I decided to just cut all my hair off," she shared. The “Texas Hold ‘Em” singer, 42, sat in a salon chair during the Reel as a stylist got to work washing her hair, with Beyoncé narrating the video as she went through her step-by-step regimen. Several childhood photos of Beyoncé show the singer with curly dark brown hair.

Also in 2017, Lawson, who's a professional hairstylist, posted a picture of Beyoncé's natural hair in a low ponytail a few months after she gave birth to twins Rumi and Sir. Like many postpartum parents, the singer likely experienced hair shedding after birth, so Lawson was ecstatic at the growth. "So happy my baby's hair grew back !! She is going to get me." Beyoncé's mother, Tina Knowles, also posed in photos for Essence.

When she's not obsessing over the royals you can find her attempting to solve cold cases as an armchair detective, traveling and experimenting with new recipes. Speaking with Essence, Beyoncé said that "something about the liberation of becoming a mother" made her want to "just shed all of that" and cut her hair, so she "just got the scissors and chopped it off." Get our big stories about Hollywood, film, television, music, arts, culture and more right in your inbox as soon as they publish. “The relationship we have with our hair is such a deeply personal journey,” she told the magazine. Beyoncé’s mom, Tina Knowles, writes a diatribe against ‘ignorant self-hating’ critics who accused the singer of lightening her skin at the ‘Renaissance’ premiere.

Beyoncé ended the show belting out "Drunk in Love" in the midst of fountain spray and fireworks — while hovering several feet above the ground. She is a graduate of the School of Visual Arts and has previously worked at Patrick McMullan Co. as well as completing internships at Martha Stewart Weddings, Vogue and CosmoGirl!

Beyoncé comes from the generation of rocking protective styles as a cultural and safety statement. In the '90s, it wasn't uncommon to see her sporting micro and individual braided hairstyles. Also, let the record show that "The Diva" singer was hip to lace fronts and other protective wig treatments before they became mainstream. In fact, her mother Tina Knowles has often taken to social media combing through her daughter's tresses to show that the girl has some serious length. Beyoncé rarely — if ever — shares when she’s rocking her real hair. But in December 2017, her stylist Neal Farinah revealed that Beyoncé had just worn her real hair when she presented Colin Kaepernick with the Muhammad Ali Legacy Award at Sports Illustrated’s yearly Sportsperson of the Year Awards.

Jerry's Catfish House

Our building is uniquely shaped as a large white igloo. The Hattiesburg Zoo offers high views and fun times with animals. Writer, editor and researcher with a passion for exploring new places. Catherine loves local bookstores, independent films, and spending time with her family, including Gus the golden retriever, who is a very good boy.

Top Reviews of Jerry's Catfish House

Driving down 49 in Florence, MS, you might think it's a little ironic to pass an igloo given the climate of this area. This beautiful Mississippi sunset photo shows Jerry's at his finest. As the impact of COVID-19 grows, we take safety measures very seriously and have implemented operational changes to keep you and our employees safe.

Catfish

Not many people need to look at the menu and many regulars like to order their catfish "extra crispy". I would love to know how many strips of catfish are consumed on a nightly basis but I'm sure it would be in the thousands. Once, I counted my husband's intake and had to quite counting at fifteen! Don't worry, your all you eat platter also consists of sweet cole slaw, french fries, and hushpuppies. Homemade tartar sauce mixed with ketchup is my dip of choice when enjoying the fresh, goodness of local Simmons Catfish served on their casual, styrofoam china.

Upon entering the massive igloo, you find a truly diverse crowd of whisker loving fans. The atmosphere is full of interesting items and the bright yellow walls as well as the local business ads lining the table make you feel right at home. With over 100 seats and two stories, it is amazing to find the restaurant packed and lines out the door every night. Catfish still reigns in Mississippi, and if you doubt it, a visit to Jerry’s Catfish House in Florence is in order. I visited on a Thursday afternoon and arrived just a few minutes after they opened.

1200 Sq Ft. House Plans with Open Floor Plans

1200 sq feet house design

Because you can only go through it once, it is important to get everything right. However, searching through countless house plans will leave you overwhelmed and stressed, especially if you are not familiar with terminologies and measurements. Next to it, is a 11’x10′ dining room that can also be used as a breakfast nook.

Plan 2 Santa Clarita, CA

There’s a fair chance you’ll make a mistake that costs you a lot of time or money - so I wouldn’t recommend this as a strategy for saving time or money. That said, it’s hugely rewarding if you enjoy doing this yourself, so I would recommend doing it for that reason. Let’s say you have plans that you’re ready to submit to the city or county. While you’re doing this work, these ADU plans can also help you with your planning and design. Site plans (or plot plans) will show how your proposed project will interact with existing conditions on the property and on neighboring properties. And an honorable mention from Hawaii where they’ve put a floor plan book together using San Diego’s plans, among others.

sq ft house design

1200 sq feet house design

If you always wanted to live in a cozy cottage home, take a look at this compact house plan. It offers 1,285 square feet of living space where you will find two bedrooms, each of them equipped with its own private bathroom. The 14’2″x9′ kitchen comes with modern amenities and it has a small pantry where you can store canned goods. We have to mention the oversized island which will be extremely useful when you’re cooking for a large family. A 1200 square feet house plan is perfect for a small family or a couple just starting out.

Plan #

Planning and building an ADU can be a pretty daunting process, but we’re here to help. If you’ve read this far, there’s a good chance you’re seriously considering doing all this on your own. If you see work you love, try to find the architect or designer responsible and see if you can work with them.

While you can select from 1000+ pre-defined designs, just a little extra option won’t hurt. Owning a home on a top floor in a high-rise apartment building is the ultimate home-buying dream... If you are not registered, use the 'Sign Up Now' button at the bottom toaccess full features of this site.

These were specifically designed by an architect who was thinking about ADUs to be built in unincorporated San Diego County. And they’re intended to be used so it looks like the county has paid for them to be distributed and reused. Single-story properties provide ease of movement between rooms and they are ideal for seniors and people with mobility problems. By avoiding stairs altogether, you won’t have to worry about going up to your bedroom in the evening and down to the kitchen in the morning. For example, the design of a 1200 sqft house should have either a south-facing house Vastu plan 30x40 or North facing Vastu plan 30x40.

It also has two equal-sized bedrooms with one bedroom having an attached toilet and a children’s bed with a common toilet for them. This Indian style plan is very well ventilated and all spaces are very well articulated offering privacy accordingly. And, finally, the great thing about building upwards instead of outwards is that you can find floor plans designedfor a narrow lot and save on lot costs as well.

It is so large that you can even set up a workshop here and your clients will not interfere with the living space, which is upstairs. There’s a half-bath and a closet near the entryway, which will be useful when you spend the entire day working in the garage. The number of rooms you can fit in a 1200 square feet space depends on various factors, including the size and layout of each room. The type of building (residential, commercial, etc.) and local building codes also play a role.

Modern 1200 Sq. Ft. House Plans, Floor Plans & Designs

Outdoors, there’s a generous 14’x6′ porch at the front and a slightly larger 14’x10′ one in the back. When it comes to aesthetics, the U-shaped floor plan is highly attractive. Its symmetrical shape and modern design provide an elegant look that complements any type of architecture. Furthermore, this design allows for plenty of natural light throughout the day, making it perfect for creating a cozy living space. Because you own a smaller home, you can focus onincluding only the necessities within the layout, easily maintain the space, save on upkeep costs, and invest ina unique design. Each wing can be used to serve a specific purpose, such as bedrooms, living room, kitchen, and bathrooms. When looking to downsize your home, 1200 sq ft house plans are an excellent option. They are large enoughto provide you all the space and rooms you need but small enough to limit maintenance and the cost of thebuilding.

You can save yourself tens of thousands of dollars by having a professional think about how this plan will fit onto your lot. That contractor can value engineer your plan (ie find ways to save money based on your specific site and project). No matter which of these options you want to explore, How To ADU can help. If you’re reading all of this and thinking you can’t do it all on your own, you have other good options.

Pay close attention to the measurements inscribed on the layout and make sure the house can fit the available building space. The L-shaped floor plan works especially well for those who need a home office or additional storage area. It also allows for more privacy, as the areas are more separated from one another. For example, you could have one side dedicated to living and dining, while the other is used as an office or guest room. With this design, you can also create a larger kitchen or family room without sacrificing bedrooms or other necessary rooms.

Majordōmo's bing bread service is a can't-miss on the menu ABC7 Los Angeles

If you live closer to Glendale than to Irvine, this handsomely spare restaurant is your destination for dizi; the version here brings the lamb-rich umami depth, a truth noted in a 2016 review by Jonathan Gold. Some versions age for a decade or more to be spreadable like cheese; this one was young, but its intensity sliced straight through the stew’s meatiness. As a contrast to the stew, sturgeon over dilled rice is terrific in its simplicity. Many of the stews we sampled during our trek tasted one-dimensional, but a bowl of ghormeh sabzi (beef, kidney beans and herbs) had a whole dried lime animating the dish with its unique, musky-pungent sourness. I was on the lookout for a superlative version of kuku sabzi, an herb-dense egg dish similar to a frittata that’s also a requisite at Nowruz.

Koobideh kebabs — an Iranian classic of ground meat shaped with distinctive finger-width indentations — were the comparative standard Helou and I ordered from restaurant to restaurant. The exemplar at Taste of Tehran showed a master’s touch, the grated onion in the tender-singed beef added in just the right proportions, every bite vibrantly seasoned. Same for the still-rosy filet shish kebab and the lemony grilled chicken. Mast-o-khiar (yogurt mixed with chopped cucumber and mint) and mast-o-mousir (yogurt with shallot; amazing with the fluffy rice and kebabs) found a silky medium, neither gluey nor watery like so many versions we encountered.

Yet the more Helou and I ate, the more distinct every restaurant became. We could discern the precise seasoning of the meats (and lack thereof), or the exact thickness of the yogurt dips, or the hoped-for weightlessness of the rice; exceptional specialties leaped out to us. When dining out, I tend to take experiences at face value and gather context later; Helou is the opposite. Regal and enigmatic, but also kind and slyly mischievous, she strikes a singular presence. The food court of this Irvine grocery store serves kebabs and fragrant stews (and also pastas, shawarma and crepes) to a clamoring lunchtime crowd. The market’s true glory, though, is sangak, an Iranian whole-wheat flatbread freckled with sesame seeds; Helou has seen it baked over beds of stones. (Its name translates as “pebbles.”) A line usually forms for the charred, soft-crisp, 4-foot loaves. We draped ours over the front of a shopping cart and ripped off blistering hunks while we wandered the aisles — and we weren’t the only shoppers doing that.

A US congressional committee summoned three more university leaders to answer questions about antisemitism on campus as college protests intensify. Diners can pick from a variety of pairings, including Cultured Butter & Honey, Chickpea & Sardine, Smoked Eggplant & Pine Nut, Pistachio & Ricotta, Lady Edison Country Ham and Whipped Bone Marrow. The bread is delicious and fluffy, "essentially becoming the backbone of the menu," Mangun stated. LOS ANGELES -- Restaurateur David Chang's Majordmo is an LA can't-miss, and a trip to Majordmo is not complete without the bread service.

I didn’t find my ideal, honestly, but the one at Attari came the closest. The kebabs are solid, the donbalan being the front runner. Our soft-spoken, septuagenarian server blushed when we asked him to translate that word; Helou immediately understood it was lamb’s testicles when she saw his embarrassment.

LOS ANGELES (AP) — At least 55 people were hurt, two seriously, when a Metro light rail train and a University of Southern California shuttle bus collided Tuesday along a busy thoroughfare in downtown Los Angeles, officials said. With the perfume of meats grilled over charcoal clinging to our clothes, we ranked our five favorite local Iranian restaurants. Exposition Boulevard was closed in both directions during the initial investigation. Metro said its train service would be limited and buses would be used to get passengers through the crash area. Television news footage showed the left side of the red and white bus smashed against the first car of the train.

Yet the more Helou and I ate, the more distinct every restaurant became. We could discern the precise seasoning of the meats (and lack thereof), or the exact thickness of the yogurt dips, or the hoped-for weightlessness of the rice; exceptional specialties leaped out to us. Tehrangeles, as the Westwood-based community has long been nicknamed, began to take shape in the 1960s; it mushroomed with the newcomers who fled Iran in response to the country’s scarring 1979 revolution. The two Attari restaurants reside on a block that received an official designation as “Persian Square” by Los Angeles in 2010, an acknowledgment of how deep the local Iranian American roots have reached. We both wanted to better grasp the city’s Iranian American culture by scaling mountain after saffron-peaked mountain of rice, wading through every possible herbaceous stew and devouring as many different kinds of kebabs as we could find. We collated the most compelling recommendations from colleagues and friends and scarfed down hearty breakfasts, lunches and dinners.

When dining out, I tend to take experiences at face value and gather context later; Helou is the opposite. Regal and enigmatic, but also kind and slyly mischievous, she strikes a singular presence. We were having the third of our day’s seven meals — eight if you count a final stop for ice cream — at Attari Grill, an Iranian restaurant in Westwood. The restaurant is the lesser-known adjunct to popular sibling Attari Sandwich Shop; they face each other across a courtyard where customers linger at tables shaded by colorful umbrellas, and they serve similarly meaty menus and grab-and-go foods.

The menu, like the dining room, sprawls, so it is wise to zero in on the several specials available only a few days a week. It’s worth stopping by on Tuesday, Wednesday or Thursday for tahchin, a savory rice cake mixed with yogurt and egg, layered with chicken or lamb, baked and crowned with crimson barberries.

2 Bedroom 1200 Sq Ft. House Plans, Floor Plans & Designs

1200 sq feet house design

Take a look at the following 6 best 1,200 square foot house plans and don’t forget to check the winner for each category. An L-shaped floor plan is a great option for people who need extra space and don’t want to sacrifice style. This type of house plan consists of two perpendicular walls with rooms extending off each side. The L-shape gives homeowners the opportunity to divide the house into two separate living areas while still allowing the two areas to remain connected.

LA architecture experts pick the city's most beautiful buildings

Building from one of our blueprints is more cost-effective than buying a home and renovating it, which is already a huge plus. Our services are unlike any other option because we offer unique, brand-specific ideas that you can't find elsewhere. To keep your belongings organized, you can rely on solutions like using compartmentalized drawers to providea clean space and easy access to any tools or appliances you may need. Or you can look for nifty “hacks,” likedoubling up on hangers to eliminate the stress of finding a place for all your clothing. In the future, however, they can easily convert these into a den, office, or guest bedroom.

Modern house plan with elevation

Though visitors only see about half of the original house, it’s well-preserved with an interesting mix of Spanish, Mission and ranchero influences. Our process includes all the experts you need, from designers to electricians to drywall installers. This is the right stage to book an ADU expert to look at your project and make sure you’re not making any costly mistakes, or leaving good opportunities on the table. This might be a great time to run it by an ADU specialist like me, or by a contractor with a lot of ADU experience who you plan on working with. You can understand why the city or county want to know all this, but you can also understand how it’s impractical to buy this off a website from a person who has never visited your property.

School Architecture

This design is often found in suburban neighborhoods so you might already be familiar with what this layout has to offer. On the main floor, there is a comfortable master bedroom which measures 13’2″x13’1″. It comes with a 7’8″x5’6″ walk-in closet and a full en-suite bathroom. The living room, kitchen and dining areas are joined together in an open-floor concept.

The Chemosphere House designed by the architect John Lautner for Nouard Gootgeld. Its minimalist style and linear design elements connect with the grid of Los Angeles streets which can be seen from the windows. Initially a temporary structure designed by Lloyd Wright, the nested quarter-spheres form a fitting backdrop for the caliber of artists who perform on its stage. Partly designed by John and Donald B. Parkinson, it was the last great railway station to be built and not the grandest, but it's been in so many films that we all recognize it when we see it.

We ensures that every detail plan carefully, so that functionality and aesthetics can blend seamlessly. Look through our projects to see how technology and creativity can work together, and see what possibilities exist for your next project. We hope that these 1200 sqft house plan design collections help find right home quickly. Designing custom home plans can be a tough choice because there are many other decisions to make like the style of your home, budget, and location. However, you need to understand that hiring an architect is key to making your dream home a reality. Home interior design to enhance the interior of the project services at an affordable price. And this time does not account for a midweek deep cleaning that would be necessary for larger homes. Are looking for the elevation design services, Imagination would be the perfect option. Online architectural services startup, Makemyhouse.com, is expanding into the Middle East... When you downsize, you must focus on the things you need versus what you want. Given your limited room, you must think through all possible scenarios. You may even find that you settle on an open concept designthat lets you use open spaces for various purposes or you emphasize outdoor seating and entertainment. Built in 1960 at 7776 Torreyson Drive in West Hollywood (in the hills overlooking Studio City and just off Mulholland Drive), The Chemosphere was designed by architect John Lautner.

Plan 2 La Verne, CA

It sits just across the street from the Disney Hall and designed to both contrast with the Disney Hall's perforated metal exterior and respect its presence. Though its skyline will never measure up to the likes of New York or Chicago, Los Angeles has carved out its own architectural identity. Look below the glassy skyscrapers and you'll find Art Deco high-rises in Downtown Los Angeles, craftsman bungalows in Pasadena and envious estates along the hills and beaches. We think Los Angeles architecture is worth celebrating, so we've put together this guide to some of the city's most remarkable buildings and styles.

Additionally, plans from one city or county may not be translated directly to another jurisdiction without some tweaks. The city of San Jose has pre-approved vendors who each have pre-approved “Build-ready” plans. If you want to work with those plans, you have to contact the builders. At the time I’m writing this, the three pre-approved vendors are Acton ADU, Abodu, and prefab ADU. The city of Encinitas (down by San Diego) offers “Permit-Ready” plans.

A sizeable 12’7″x18’9″ storage area allows you to keep your belongings in an organized space. The laundry is conveniently placed in the basement, which keeps the main level purely comfort-oriented. The centerpiece of this home is the 12’x16’6″ great room which is the perfect place to spend your time with family in the evening. Right next to it, there is a 7’6″x10′ dining area that leads to the kitchen.

This design also creates two outdoor living spaces and can help maximize light and airflow, depending on the orientation of the house. Welcome to our 1200 sqft house plan design design service, where innovation meets precision. We are an experienced team of architects, interior designers and engineers worked hard years to collect thousands of 1200 sqft house plan design that you find here.

Now if you do what I’m doing in this section (copy) a plan and it’s protected (registered after the 1990 copyright act) then that’s against the law. If at any point in this article you start feeling overwhelmed, don’t worry - that’s normal. Just email hello@how-to-adu.com (or fill out this form to get started) and let us help you out. Every property is unique so you still need to do some important work with these plans based on the specific site and the orientation of the ADU. Best to think of these as “Starter Plans” or “Design Drawings” because you’ll still need to do some work before submitting for planning or building permits.

To help, I’ve pulled some information together about how to use floor plans and design drawings, and what the next steps are before you can submit for a permit. For this article, I’m maintaining a list of free Accessory Dwelling Unit design drawings and floor plans that you can use to inspire your ADU project. NewHomeSource features ready to build floor plans from the best home builders across the Los Angeles area. Here's an summary of the ready to build houses available on NewHomeSource.com. Since most of these plans have around 1,200 square feet, they can easily fit on narrow lots. Some of them can even be built on a slope, which allows you to raise your new home on a hill with a stunning view.

They could even optto install a home gym in the garage, once the kids have left and there aren’t as many cars. It’s able to do this because it makes smart use of the elevation from a second floor addition to create an “opento below” area. This makes the home feel airy and spacious, while easily accommodating a family of four.

BEST Cruise Deals & Specials 2023

cruise carnival 2023

Carnival’s accessible price-point and high-quality entertainment also works in favor of multigenerational travel. It’s a cruise that almost everyone can afford, and cruising aboard Carnival Celebration with family and friends is a treat indeed. For some, it may very well be their first introduction to the world of cruise travel. Staterooms aboard Carnival Celebration are more modern in appearance than the line’s ships of the past, with a palette of light blues and sea foam greens mixed with crisp white linens and furnishings. In industry-speak, how easily passengers move about a ship is called “flow”. Carnival Dream also features the borderline-magical Alchemy Bar® and Ocean Plaza, which combines tasty treats with perhaps even tastier entertainment.

Carnival Magic®

Mardi Gras and Carnival Celebration are now the only Carnival ship on the list of the 50 biggest cruise ships. Seven of the line's 25 vessels measure less than 100,000 tons, which makes them almost midsize by today's cruise ship standards. The ship has 82 accessible staterooms with bathrooms with roll-in showers, wider doors and, where needed, ramps, in numerous categories. Corridors are wide enough to accommodate wheelchairs and scooters and there are 22 lifts providing vertical access between Decks 3 (for the medical center and disembarkation) and 18. Carnival is a line that harmoniously brings people from all walks of life together.

New innovations join fan favorites across Carnival Jubilee™ which does its crowd-pleasing with all the awesome tricks of the fun trade.

Most vessels have standard North American-style, 110-volt outlets in rooms, as well as European-style, 220-volt outlets. Carnival adds an automatic service gratuity of $16 to $18 per person, per day to final bills, depending on the cabin category (children under the age of 2 are exempt). If you are unhappy with the service you receive, you can adjust this amount at the Guest Services desk before disembarking.

Ocean View Staterooms

There's almost always a piano bar that's home to lively singalongs. The latter venue was created in partnership with Food Network's Guy Fieri and serves a free lunch on embarkation and sea days, with all items smoked on board. Like other big-ship operators, Carnival packs a lot of dining options onto its vessels — some included in the price, some at an extra charge. That said, Carnival has seen the success that some of its competitors have had with a bigger range of upscale accommodations, and it's eyeing more suites for future vessels. The new Mardi Gras and Carnival Celebration each have 180 suites — more than twice the number of Carnival's other recent ships. Each of the vessels in Carnival's recent Vista Class series, for instance, offers fewer than 75 suites.

This includes Kushiro in the northern part of the country and Aomori, followed by Yokohama, just outside of Tokyo. That’s why we searched Carnival’s schedule out more than a year from now to scout some of the most attractive deals in a variety of categories. From the least expensive cruises overall to great deals on cruise itineraries you don’t see every day, this list should give you a good idea of what sort of offers are out there.

This isn't a line for Wall Street bankers or white-shoe lawyers. Carnival trips are all about letting loose and having a good time. Maybe you'll drink a little too much, eat a little too much, play a little too much — but in the end, you'll say it was your best trip ever.

Carnival Jubilee Voted Best New Cruise Ship of 2023

The design offers additional protections for the little ones, as it is away from any bars, lounges and nightlife spaces. In a nod to Carnival’s history, cruisers will find plenty of objects onboard that have come from past ships. These include the original 1934 Rolls Royce Saloon car that sailed aboard Carnival Ecstasy until that ship was taken out of service, which now finds a home next to the entrance to the Golden Jubilee Bar. Since your huge Suite on Carnival Celebration® affords you VIP status, you're in the priority line when getting on and off the ship… plus Suites come with exclusive perks!

Plus there’s Seaquest, a show that virtually transforms the zone into a submarine on an adventure we’ll enjoy together. And with everything to see, don’t forget about the fantastical flavors, with Emeril’s Bistro 717™, Dr.Inks, Ph.D.™ and The Golden Mermaid™. Haute cuisine meets atmosphere at Fahrenheit 555™, a dining experience that stands toe-to-toe with some of the best steakhouses on land. Ours features your choice of steak cuts, lobster, lamb and more… and inside, there’s even a full bar that pours great pairings.

For free eats, Carnival’s Lido Marketplace buffet on Deck 16 and its two main dining rooms – Festivale on Deck 6 and 7 aft, and Carnivale on Deck 6 midship – offer all the classic foods cruisers have come to expect. While the buffet is open for breakfast, lunch and dinner, dining rooms tend to be dinner-only affairs, save for sea days when Carnival’s popular Sea Day Brunch (reservations required) is offered. Over the course of our weeklong Eastern Caribbean cruise, waiting – for elevators, for food, for bar service, for deck chairs, and nearly everything in between – became a hallmark of the Carnival Celebration experience. These spaces are certainly unique, but almost all are under-sized for a vessel carrying this many passengers.

Then there's always something funny going on at the Punchliner Comedy Club™. On Carnival Breeze, fun-fan faves like SportSquare™, and mouth-watering dining spots like Cucina del Capitano®, are just the beginning of how this ship keeps the fun blazing. In general, Carnival ships are among the most affordable at sea.

You’ve gotta trust us… or you can join us at The Golden Mermaid™, where amazing drinks are just the beginning. Some of the mixological treasures we’re recovered from the deep? Cocktail recipes inspired by precious metals and gemstones, drinks served in exquisite glassware, plus garnishes like edible glitter to remind you of sunlight streaming through the waves from up above! All this glitz pairs perfectly with live music, making this the perfect place to relax with an elegant drink before or after dinner.

Get ready to relax as you gaze upon Carnival Breeze's gentle wake from your spacious balcony. He's cute, he knows how to chill… and flavor is everything to the little guy. We only just found out about the years he spent soaking up the sun among the grass skirts and frangipani flowers of the South Pacific where, he would tell you, it’s easy being red. You'll find some of his favorite recipes from those days on menu at the first-ever RedFrog® Tiki Bar — sip a Polynesian Punch, try a Jungle Bird, or get a little tongue-twisted ordering a Red's Rum Jumper. This poolside bar on Mardi Gras® spans two decks and transports you right to the land of Tiki. If you’ve strolled along New Orleans’ French Quarter in the evening, you’re not alone in feeling that mysteries and surprises lie around every corner.

We call Carnival Celebration®'s onboard burger spot Guy’s Burger Joint™. We teamed up with Guy Fieri to design not just the burgers and fries, but to help bring in the kind of rustic atmosphere you’d find at a roadside burger shack somewhere off a coastal highway. All signs point to ambiance — and serious flavor — so try a burger dressed up the way Guy likes it, or take it off-roading… to the nearby topping bar, where you can make it your own. Emeril’s second restaurant at sea does something a little different. Then it serves up international dishes… all with Emeril’s signature culinary flair! From one day to the next you’ll find new stuff on the menu — so make sure to come back and see what surprising specialties are ready to delight you for breakfast, lunch or dinner.

Between May and September, the Celebration also sails to the Southern Caribbean with a series of special eight-night cruises to the ABC islands. Offered regularly by the Carnival Celebration through 2023, this seven-night cruise to the Eastern Caribbean includes visits to three ports in the region. Enjoy the race that stops a nation on a Melbourne Cup cruise, or have Christmas you’ll never forget on a cruise ship. Even during construction, we knew where we were heading with the big plans for Carnival Jubilee! So here’s your deck-by-deck look at where to find all the fun, and all the staterooms.

11 Top Carnival Cruise Deals You Dont Want to Miss

Standard stateroom bathrooms aboard Carnival Celebration are noticeably smaller, and seemed cramped and difficult to even turn around in and could present challenges for larger passengers. That modern styling continues too in stateroom bathrooms, which are crisp and well-designed and finally shed the horrifying pinks and pea-soup-green plastic molding found on past ships. Gone, too, are the cylindrical showers with the clingy curtains, replaced instead by a generously sized shower with an articulated door that slides out of the way when opened. In typical Carnival fashion, its neon-blue and orange Body Wash and Shampoo are located in pump-dispensers mounted to the wall. The colors may be garish, but we actually like the scent of both. The patience passengers will need aboard Carnival Celebration extends to the passenger elevators, which never seem to arrive in a timely manner, and are nearly always packed to the brim with people.

Carnival Celebration is a Win for Multigenerational Families

Carnival is the undisputed leader among North America-based cruise brands when it comes to affordability, which makes it popular with vacationers on a budget. The overarching idea for Carnival's ship deployments is that a large percentage of the U.S. population can reach one of the line's ships by car, saving the cost of flights. Note that the Carnival fleet is scheduled to grow over the next year with two more new vessels. As noted above, the line has ordered another sister vessel to Mardi Gras and Carnival Celebration that will be ready to sail in late 2023. Carnival has just begun operating its first truly giant ships in years, the 181,808-ton, 5,282-passenger Mardi Gras and the 183,521-ton, 5,374-passenger Carnival Celebration.

In a departure from Carnival's American-focused business model, the Australia sailings are aimed mostly at the local Australian market, though they are open to American travelers. However, with two exceptions, they're not giants by today's standards. Entertainment, at times, is as lowbrow as the line is low-cost.

Bonsai Teppanyaki

We found this deal, however, that represents the least expensive Alaska cruise of 2024. Starting at $699 per person for an interior cabin, the cruise takes you from Seattle to Skagway, Juneau, Ketchikan, and Victoria (Canada) before returning home. That’s a line-up of classic ports in this part of the country that shouldn’t be missed.

Families and diversity have always been part of Carnival’s DNA, and Carnival Celebration takes that to the next level. Sadly, Carnival Celebration stumbles when it comes to handling the 5,374 passengers it can carry – a number that balloons up to 6,631 when all third and fourth berths are filled. The ship feels consistently busy, often overwhelmingly so, with public venues that strain under the pressure of a full ship. But Carnival’s new generation of ship, powered by cleaner-burning Liquefied Natural Gas (LNG) technology, is also a ship of the future – and designers have thrown everything but the kitchen sink into its creation. Named after the line’s original Celebration of 1987, Carnival Celebration pays homage to Carnival’s past while also continuing to add new and exciting features that are sure to please guests of all ages.

The highly-anticipated Carnival Jubilee, now the cruise line’s flagship, embarked on her inaugural cruise on December 23, 2023, from her homeport of Galveston, Texas. The ship is sailing 7-night Western Caribbean cruises with calls at Roatan, Honduras, and Costa Maya and Cozumel, Mexico. After leaving from its Miami homeport, the 2022-built vessel sails to Amber Cove before visiting San Juan and St. Thomas. With several departures between March and December, the cruise also features two full days at sea. Since your huge Suite on Carnival Jubilee™ affords you VIP status, you're in the priority line when getting on and off the ship… plus Suites come with exclusive perks!

What’s the Best Length of Time for a Cruise?

The shorter version of the itinerary, however, includes two full days at sea, while the longer cruise features three full days cruising in the Caribbean. You know we definitely see our share of coastal areas, so it’s easy to imagine how special a place it is to us. That’s why paying tribute to the magical spot where the water meets the land just feels so natural.

And while that attempt keeps things small – human, even – it creates problems as the ship’s most popular spaces fill up early and stay that way. With Carnival Celebration, Carnival has started to bring more interesting décor in public spaces back, in a more modern (and perhaps accessible) way. These include the Miami-themed sandwich and pizza joints, Miami Slice and Deco Deli, on Deck 8 aft that channel the vibrant, often neon look found in Miami’s South Beach neighborhood.

Most of these six ships (all but Carnival Venezia) have an a la carte barbecue-and-beer joint called Guy's Pig & Anchor Smokehouse Brewhouse, too. Other extra-charge eateries often found on Carnival vessels include Bonsai, an a la carte sushi restaurant (now on 14 ships), and JiJi Asian Kitchen, which costs $24 per person (now on four ships). Note that Carnival's two oldest ships — those that are part of the 1990s-built Fantasy Class — have relatively few balcony cabins by today's standards.

(It also happened to consistently have some of the best drinks, and service, on our sailing). That area gives way to Emeril’s Bistro 1397 (Bam! Get the beignets!), and eventually transitions into the Festivale Restaurant main dining room that spans the height of Decks 6 and 7. And any time you’re in your well-appointed Balcony stateroom aboard Carnival Celebration®, you’re just steps away from the outdoors by way of your private open-air oasis. And any time you’re in your well-appointed Balcony stateroom aboard Carnival Jubilee™, you’re just steps away from the outdoors by way of your private open-air oasis.

A French Quarter-styled zone on a new ship wouldn’t be complete without an unassuming little bar that feels like it’s always been there. Call us supernatural, but we’re sensing vacation fun in your future. Carnival has been rolling out faster Wi-Fi systems across its fleet in the last couple of years, such that you can now stream video on some ships. Pricing changes over time, but the fastest "premium" service on Carnival vessels was recently priced at $21.25 per day when bought in advance ($25 per day when bought onboard). Meanwhile, for passengers hoping for quiet time away from the kids, many Carnival ships also have an adults-only Serenity retreat area on their top decks with padded loungers, daybeds, hot tubs and often a bar.

Unlike some lines, Carnival has resisted the trend of big-ship operators carving out whole sections of deck-top areas for the exclusive use of passengers staying in suites or willing to pay hefty access fees. It's a fun-at-sea focus that has gone to new levels over the past two years with the debut of Mardi Gras and Carnival Celebration, each of which has — get this — a roller coaster on the top deck. At 800 feet in length, these aren't the biggest roller coasters ever. Guy's Pig & Anchor Smokehouse Brewhouse, notably, has its very own in-house brewery you can see behind glass walls — something still relatively rare on cruise ships.

Passengers come prepared with rehearsed songs and sometimes even their own guitars. BlueIguana is a Chipotle-style restaurant, with yummy made-to-order burritos and tacos. Created in partnership with Food Network's Guy Fieri, Guy's Burger Joint offers burgers that beat anything you'll find around the pool on other mass-market ships and even most luxury vessels. The self-described "fun ship" line is the king of short, affordable, fun-focused cruises from U.S. ports to the Caribbean, Bahamas, Mexico and other nearby destinations. No matter where you live in the U.S., you're probably within a few hours of a Carnival ship.
